are you having a crisis of faith, Steve?
That's pretty much the Christian thoughts too. Only difference? Christians say an invisible man who lives in the sky did it all.

so you're saying if god = nothing, then Christians = atheists. The Hindus and Buddhists consider the supreme void of nothingness... jus sayin

No crisis of faith, I just thought it was a pretty good explanation of nothingness. :) I don't know who created it, it just appeared on my face book page.

I certainly don't find Christianity to be easier to believe and there are plenty of placks that are at least as ridiculing of Christianity as that was of atheism but you won't see me posting them here or anywhere else.

I always find it laughable, that shallow thinking atheists refer to the Bible as a fairy story, but the Historians who hold their PhD in the
subject, including the skeptics, don't.

Maybe you are confusing atheism with something else.
No atheist I know believes in magic. In fact, it is the absence of magic is what people like you call atheism.

Nagy: Let us look at the very first pages of this great book, then. It states that
1. there was day and night before the Sun was created, even though day and night are the specific times when parts of the Earth have rotated into or away from Sunlight.
2. plants were created before the Sun was, ergo, they survived without photosynthesis.
3. in Genesis I other animals were created before people, but a page and a half later, in Genesis II, people were created before animals.
Apparently in the murky mind of taffthetooth, it takes a shallow thinker to realize that this is mind-rending nonsense, because there are historians who have Ph. D.s in the nonsense. Go ahead, taffthetooth; laugh some more. It won't do anything for your utterly c*********d intellectual integrity, but it will make you feel superior.

Steve40, your entire post is total nonsense. The argument you use to denounce atheism can be used equally effectively against creationism, because it states that everything came from something that had no cause; a god. Your anti-atheism argument is based on the unstated premise that everything had to have a cause, therefore something happening without cause is illogical. You are so lost in your unexamined and illogical assumptions that it never occurred to you that the existence of a god violations your fundamental premise; everything had to have a cause. If you resort to the refuge of saying god is an exception, that is a violation of elementary logic.

Here is something you may not be aware of, although Genesis is
the logical place to start in the Bible, Genesis is not the oldest book,
Job is. And when you read Genesis, you should read Job chapter 37-39 also.
Gen 1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The universe had been created including our sun, the point of reference here is the universe.
Gen 2, Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
The point of reference here has shifted to the surface of the Earth, and it was dark, why? Because the atmosphere was so thick no light could get through. If you want to learn more on this may I suggest you watch this.

So you don't believe in multiple dimensions?
