Five hundred years ago, the Inca nation built huge walls, temples, homes, & palaces of carved stones (some weighing up to 100 tons). They are fitted so perfectly together that a credit card often can't be inserted in the seams. Five hundred years later, they remain in place. Inca stone mastery remains unmatched in the world. Their method of carving perfectly-fit stones remains a mystery. Hard hammer-stones composed of Dolorite are thought by some to have been used to chisel the larger blocks, but the complexity of the polishing, transport, & setting leads researchers to feel some unknown method was employed. Incas had no written record, and the Spanish destroyed almost all remains of their civilization. . Their nation was dissolved. It is estimated that between 1530 and 1550, the Inca population dwindled from a high of up to 20 million to 5 million due to diseases imported (smallpox, typhoid, etc.) by the invading Spanish.

According to Erich von Däniken it couldn't be anything other than aliens that built the stone structures.

von Däniken's books have also been used in modern logic classes as examples of flawed deductive logic.

I replied prior to your posting the additional images. Very nice photos.

History channel showed some work not long ago and other civilization that had some stone work that we can not figure how they done it. There was one place that granite had perfect round holes and other cuts they could not duplicate today unless the used our modern equipment.

Thanks. Yes. Their ability to work with stone is impressive. This, and the pyramids in Egypt give a lot of fodder to creative thinkers.

When you look at the scale of what they did, it is impressive. Many smart people haven't been able to conclusively explain their stone work.
