I like the first one since it removes the distracting clutter in the background, which I don't think will be removed by just croping alone.

I agree ......the lines in the background draw your eye away from the main subject.

#1. Can see detail. Blurry background, statue stands out.

I wonder what a low angle and shooting up would look like?
Hopefully with some blue sky...

Low angle shooting up will having you looking up her nose... Oh she doesn't have a nose!!! #1 is the best to me.

I'm going to vote on #3 because of the stuff in the background that doesn't add to the shot at all for me (like a chain link fence.)

I like #1 best. I like the the close up and focus on the statue. The other two there is just too much in the background and that is distracting to me.
