Hopefully the Connecticut Governor and his legislators will heed this debacle in Sweden and rush to enact tighter sword legislation.

This should enhance the prevention of more attacks, especially from those with mental deficiencies. One can only hope.

Glad to see you're on this Dave. I myself thought that this sword attack was inherently inefficient. I would hope that they would learn that so many more could be k**led with an AR-15 than they managed to k**l with a sword.
Really! Get a life.

Why take any chances? Laws are easy enough to make......

K*****g them with a sword makes it so much better, according to you. Is that it? Blame the tool not the nut case.

One Rude Dawg,

I didn't have much to say because Frank obviously knows nothing about the useless knee jerk legislation this state has passed. More of the same type of response regarding swords would not surprise many.

So, you approve of them using knives & swords to commit atrocities now ? How is that any different than a gun ?... How asinine of you, as was said, attacking the tool instead of the perp......

I think Frank was busting on me because I was disparaging the zealous Ct laws. Certainly fine to disagree if you know about the laws I'm referring to.

Seemed like a good post at the time....

It is part of Islamic culture to attack victims with knives and swords, and behead them if possible. Any laws against swords or murder with swords are therefore anti-Muslim and thus, r****t.

As to dealing with a sword-wielding jihadist, do we hear any witticisms about a fool who brought a sword to a gunfight?

Before you pass judgement, are you familiar with the magazine and assault weapon legislation hastily passed in this state?

I will stop this pursuit right now. An argument on gun legislation serves no purpose. I made the post because many gun owners, particularly in Connecticut, are very aware of the hasty and pathetic knee jerk reactions that do not address the real issues, but make some feel warm and fuzzy like they really accomplished something.

Obviously, sword legislation probably would not impact the bad guys, but would affect the legal owners. Realistically, Ct could embrace legislation pertaining to issues like this. :) :)

In Canada, Sikhs were given a waiver for their high-school kids to carry blades at school. Possibly lower grades also, I didn't check that far. There have also been court cases in NYC over allowing Sikhs to carry knives at school. No cases yet over their "magic protective underwear."

A few years ago, in a heavily-Black section of the Antelope Valley of California, a man minding his own business on the sidewalk was shot with a crossbow bolt and died. Senator Feinstein did not comment on whether it was shot from an ordinary crossbow or an "assault crossbow."
