Looks pretty good. I think most are overpriced. Let us know how it works for you!

Amazon basics are generally what they say, basic but reasonable quality for the price. In this case I would be careful. The tripod has a lot of leg segments, which means the lower ones will be thin and subject to vibration when extended.
Many people pay more for a tripod head than this complete thing.
I think you are correct to be cautious. Not for a heavy camera or a long lens. A basic light weight camera with a standard or wide angle lens possibly.
It will only support 8#.
A Tripod should support one and one half to twice the total weight of your camera and largest lens.
it would probably depend on person an usage. The load factor would deter me as I would not want to my 150 600 on it. Also the height would be a factor. With a Gimbal head and a large lens and full frame that would be and over kill. Also I found the tripods with more extension on the legs are less study. It would be a good travel tripod for a camera with a lens that is not heavy. I would not have a use for it very often as it is not tall enough either.
Take a look at the reviews on Amazon - particularly the ones that give less than a 5-star rating (which may be paid-for by the manufacturer or importer).
I have a similar tripod but branded as Giottos. It is fine until the bottom section legs are in use. They are very thin and vibrate very easily. I now only use the tripod for supporting a flash gun.

Lately, I have acquired several tripods (swap meets, flea markets, even NIB) that are very low cost and have lousy leg systems. Why do I buy them? Every one I got had a removable head with a Kirk style proper sized bracket. I have thrown away all the legs, but now have better heads for my monopod, Leki walking stick, window mount and even a couple of light stands. While the heads are not up to Kirk standards, they are better than what I had. Some times, we need to look for the jewels in the mud pile.
I don't know your cameras worth but I know for myself I wouldn't want to support a cameras lens and body worth several thousand dollars with an eighty dollar tripod.

Somewhere I have a travel tripod like that. It does fit nicely in a suitcase but I think I've put a camera on it exactly once. It probably would make a pretty good table-top tripod but the legs are just to flimsy to extend beyond the shortest position.
With rare exception, you get what you pay for.
The Nest travel tripod recommended by Mt Shooter is great. It runs about three hundred bucks with a Vanguard ballhead but is worth every penny. You should never need another one after that purchase.
8 pound weight limit, would be very low to me. I want at least 2 times my camera weight
I guess you get what you pay for .
My Manfrotto was over $400 plus the head I went with was extra.
Of course you have to have something to handle your equipment.
I have some very large and heavy lens ......
