An interesting fact, David was supposed to be displayed originally on the side of a Piazza in Roma. Thank the Lord for the power of my Nikon zoom, because with the crowds I could have never taken these otherwise.

Thanks so much! I waited for years for the opportunity (to see as well as shoot. If you ever get to Florence this is a "MUST SEE", even if you see nothing else. The statue is SOOOO big, and life like, it is totally amazing. Even thinking of someone carving eye pupils or the veins on a hand out of a block of marble is totally amazing.
