Saying Hello to All Here.
Just a little note to all would care to know...
I have accepted an offer to join this "Thread" (or page) of the UHH....
My friend = minniev = invited me here to check things out and see what others are "talking" about.
Hope to Help - Learn - and Advise from and to others about the passion, love, art, and science of Photography.
I have a Facebook page where my photographs might be viewed. And I shall give it when I can to those who wish to know more about me as a person and photographer.

Glanced at your profile........Looks like you don't like to talk much so we'll communicate with pictures. Wonderful to have someone with your talent here, I think you will find this group hospitable and entertaining.
I must give this Barako Coffee a try ;-)
I do like my coffee - Sometimes, as after dinner, with a "Single Malt" Backer.

When I have something too "say" (or prompted) .. I can be a very wordy fellow.

Probably local only to the Philippines, which is where Billy resides. ;-)
Barako is a Filipino coffee grown in the Batangas region of Luzon. The largest island in the Phils where Manila is situated and close to where I live.
Barako is dark and strong with what at first seems a slightly bitter taste but once you are accustomed to it nothing comes close for waking you up in the morning and getting the plumbing in working order.
I do not drink alcohol James but will make sure there is a decent malt for you to go with your coffee after you have tasted Mrs Billy excellent cooking.
Don I read you were suffering with a headache so held back on the Barako as its pretty high up on caffeine list which aint good for headaches.

Sounds like the perfect coffee! My wife loves the dark, strong stuff as well. Perhaps that was why I had the headache all day, I had coffee with me all day. ;-)
Good to see you here, James!
Your tag line is one of my favorite Ansel quotes :)
Welcome, James. We are all trying to make FYC into a clean, well lighted place for good-natured discourse on our shared passion. Your story (I read it! ) sounds something like mine in places. I have to wonder if the camera in your avatar is a Graphic View II. Sure looks like it. I still have mine, but (like you) for various reasons I hung up my guns for many years until discovering digital only in 2007, and it's been madness ever since! Again, welcome! :D

Thank you - Chuck - For the good words here....
The camera in my current avatar is a Berke & James 4X5 "Orbit"... I recently acquired it on "E-Bay".... I got the whole "set-up" = i.e. camera, 16 holders, and a case for 210. USD.
I have other large format cameras as well ... I am putting them to use in some Photographic-Paper negative experiments... I have Over 1000 8X10 sheets of the stuff and did not wish to trash it out. So I am putting it to use making orthochromatic photographs of it.
It is a "Chemical//Digital" process ... Where I develop the paper (the regular way) in a darkroom and dry them ... Lay them on a flatbed scanner and covert them to useable positive prints in CS-5. It is a lot of fun as well.
The use of these "old" cameras has made a better photographer of me.... The old saying goes ... "The Only Photographer To Compare Yourself To...... Is The One YOU Use To Be." This rings very true for me.
Attached are my other cameras for this experiment.
