Nice. Would you mind telling me how to add a signature name to a photo like you have done?

Regis - with 1/60, I assume you did use a tripod. I was out tonight with my 5D III, same lens but no extender - my exposure was 1/400. F8, ISO 100. With Lightroom I used max contrast, moderate sharpening. I didn't get the crisp sharpness that you were able to get. Mayb e I should use a tripod and the 1.4. Any thoughts?

Thank you, Frequent Flyer. A signature name could be tricky. The easiest way is to use Adobe Photoshop Elements lettering icon. You can create your name in any color and resize it to fit on the photo. But, I am not sure you can save it for later use. The other method that I use is more involved and you have to use the CorelDraw X7 program. Create your signature then click on it and export it and save to a file name, save it as a PNG file and export it again, a window will come up then just say OK. You can save the signature in different colors and sizes.

Thank you, Doug.
I haven't used a tripod for 6 years for any of my photos. You don't need an Extender. Your exposure should be between 100-250. F8 to F12 is good. ISO 100 to 200 is good. Must use spot metering and program mode. Focus on different moon parts using spot metering and take at least a dozen shots.
Sometimes if you focus on the moon craters (edge of moon) you will have a sharper photo. Go to photo shop elements and use contrast to tone down the brightness, then use some sharpness (not to much). I use a Barska pistol grip attached to my lens and sometimes I will lean against my utility shed or a awning post for steadiness. Not all my shots turn out well, that's why I take about a dozen shots. Then I know at least a few of them will turn out OK. I have very steady hands. I recommend using a tripod for most people.

Very well done with your usual skill and attention to detail. The moon is not my favorite subject but this is an excellent capture.

Nice photo. I've got the same camera, lens and TC so I'm going to see if I can get a shot as nice as yours...

Great photo. Thanks for sharing your sharpness and exposure tips too. I have been trying to get a shot like this but am falling short on all fronts
