Thanks for the nice comments......the overhead trestle is still being used....matter of fact, a train wrecked and fell from the treatle a couple years ago...... :mrgreen:

That's a great photo(I brightened it up a little for you)....has to be a "lift type bridge" to allow water travel...definitely unusual...by-the-way, my great grandmother is from the UK (England).... :thumbup:

Thank you Silverhawk, was a misty sort of day, and no PP.with a bit of editing. Its called a Transporter Bridge, It loads 6 cars and foot passangers. Walked across the top as a 12 year old, couldnt (wouldn't) do it today, but the bridge still works.

Pretty popular bridge.. Big Sur, CA.. the other is a canal/via duct, near Needles CA. The white in the foreground is I think gypsum deposits... guessing here...
