The cost of living index says no raises this year, does that mean no raise for Congress?

It's a Catch-22. There's no Soc Sec increase because prices haven't risen enough to justify one. If there had been considerable inflation, the small Soc Sec increase would still have left us behind. I prefer lower prices to a small increase in pay.

Oil prices are largely responsible for the computation. It is a foregone conclusion that many older retirees hardly benefit from this decrease, but instead are facing higher healthcare costs. I know of people in their later years that are already facing higher prescription costs that alone would not even remotely be paid for with a 15 or 20 dollar per month increase in benefits. Plus, the verdict is still out on Part B increases. No doubt that further analysis is needed.

Yes, Congress will get a raise because they use a different formula to get their 3% raise every year, but they are so poor, you know they need that raise.

Shame on them, that's one of the reasons people are going for people such as Donald Trump for President.

Trump said he would not take any pay if he is elected President.

Jerry pointed out that Congress has v**ed to not take the raise since 2009. As far as Trump is concerned........

Obama was thinking of raising the Part B Medicare to $159.30 a month from $104.90 a month.

I keep stressing that someone has to keep these i*****l i*******ts on entitlement Welfare/Medicaid, I guess it is our, (Social Security recipients), tern this year. Next year Obama may raise the FICA tax on working individuals to help keep these i*****l i*******ts; someone has to keep paying, nothing is free.

If Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton gets elected, it will be more of the same policy as Obama is doing.

Obama was thinking of raising the Part B Medicare ... (show quote)

Not true. Obama and Congress must act to prevent the increase.
