Very interested in buying a Nikon 80-200 f2.8 lens. I have been looking in eBay and on-line camera stores and although some of the prices are excellent, none have grabbed my attention/heart. I do want a very sharp lens. I purchased an old Nikon 300mm f/2.8 from KEH and am delighted. I prefer a 80-200 f/2.8 to the 70-200.

Hi. This is Leon S. Since I installed windows 10, my e-mail is non operational and I am forced to communicate this way. It should be up by the end of the day or tomorrow. I have an 80-200 2.8 for sale. It is a push pull and in operationally good shape. There is a slight dent on the filter threads which doesn't allow filters to be put on her. Everything else is in good shape. I will be selling it for $250 if interested. I will try to get back in touch with you latter or send me an e-mail regarding said lens. Yes this the one, it is in excellent condition with both lens caps, hood and case. I cannot sell it for less than my asking price since I paid considerably more for it. However I will ship and insure at my cost if you are interested in it.

Thank you for your response and I certainly understand your feelings. You probably paid around $1200 plus tax for the lens and don't want to take to big a loss. I understand, because I have been there many times. I started photography in the '60s and I have no idea the number of Nikon lenses I have purchased and sold in the intervening years....always at a loss.

I am sure your lens is in prime condition and appreciate it has all the caps and the hood; however I can buy several 80-200 lenses from Japan that are also in prime condition with caps and hood. Even paying $30-40 for shipping the lenses will cost me a lot less than $600.

Therefore, I regretfully pass on your excellent lens and I thank you for your time,

Some advice to assist you. There are several versions of the 80-200. Are you looking for a particular one? Secondly, I would be cautious in purchasing used from Japan. There is a thread in today's post that discusses that. I suggest that you might be better purchasing on here or from a dealer like KEH where you are more likely to get what you are asking for. Again, just my opinion. Have a great day.
