Photos Pixelmator

Photos in El Capitan was supposed to allow for the use of 3d party editors.
Does anyone know how to get to Pixelmator while using the Edit function? In iPhoto you merely had to right-click. This does not work in Photos. Contacting Apple brings the comment that Apple does not support 3d party Apps even though the Apps are Apple specific and sold in their App Store.

Pixelmator is made for the Mac and there Products, not by Mac. They are a third party software company.

Yes, I am having the same problem trying to add 3rd party editors. I found a partial solution by going into Photos Help and entering "3rd Party Extensions" in the subject line. This will take you a narrative on how to do this--sort of. BTW, I stumbled onto the subject line info strictly by chance. If you try "plugins" or anything of that ilk, there is no answer or even the hint of one.

Hi Bonjac, I downloaded the page but when I double-clicked a photo in Photos there was no Extensions option within Edit on the top toolbar?
Any ideas please?

When you are in edit and have an image on the screen, look at the lower right hand corner. It should say extensions. Click on that. Hope this helps. Jack

Bonjac - thanks for replying - no sign of an Extensions option in the bottom right hand of the pic once on screen.
Not to worry - am exploring LR and PSE as alternatives
