Arrggg Carrier Delay

I ordered a Epson V550 scanner from Amazon earlier in the week. Yesterday the tracking indicated the package arrived at post office locally! Was anxiously awaiting delivery today! Just got notice on my iPhone "A Carrier Delay Has Occurred ". No details given. Argggg no relief for my GAS!

Well, that is the USPS for you!
It has happened to me as well. What usually happens is that I get the notice that the package is on the carrier vehicle and out for delivery. Then I get an update later that day that they attempted to deliver package and left a notice on the door. But, I was home waiting on the package and there was no notice left! I have to reschedule the delivery for the next day or have the package held for pickup at the post office.
The Postal Service is not as good as it used to be!

Well, good news for me! My package was just delivered! Amazon tracking still says delayed. No idea what happened.

Very annoying. Usually I get the package a day after UPS leaves it at the PO, but once it was delayed for a couple of days. Even going to the PO didn't help. They said they didn't have it.
I like the email messages about package delivery. More than once, I found out I had a package at the front door through my email. I didn't hear the truck, and the dogs didn't bark.

That is interesting, I have more problems with UPS. They only use the standard 5-digit zip codes and ignore the + 4 for delivery. On my short street for example there are four different complete Zip+4 codes used by the USPS. But I have found due to the fact that UPS is going by Zip Code then Street Name then Number, that sometime, often in my case they are on the "wrong" street and deliver my package to a home on another street but with the same number. Luckily so far your unknown neighbors have been honest and brought our package to us or returned it to the carrier another day some how. The worst I can get with the USPS is transposition of digits but at least they get it with in the narrow possibilities of a single Zip+4 location.

a few months ago I placed an order with Amazon with free shipping. They sent my package by FedEx Ground. My package sat on a dock in Mass. for 5 ½ days and didn't move. Then it was delivered late (no surprise). Never again will I accept a delivery from FedEx. I don't want them in my yard. If amazon can't ship by UPS then they can keep their order.

I guess I'm lucky with delivery from USPS, UPS, and FedEx. When my Prime delivery would be a Saturday, Amazon sends it FedEx, since UPS doesn't work on the weekend. The PO has started bringing large packages right to my door. I used to get a yellow slip in the mailbox and had to go to the PO to get them.

Regional Post Office is delivering Amazon packages on Sundays. This has been going on for the past six months. No extra charge! tHANKs

You are correct. The deterioration is directly attributable to Congressional interference intentional to weaken the USPS in favor of UPS and Fedex lobbyists.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I ordered something from Amazon yesterday afternoon, and it was delivered UPS/USPS today. I don't know how they do it. And it was left right at my door by the mail carrier.

I usually don't have issues with any of the carriers (UPS, USPS or FedEx). This was a bit of a Fluke and, as mentioned, the package did actually come when scheduled. No idea why I got notice there was a problem.

Guess so. I was bummed when I got the notice that shipping was delayed, but very happy when it was delivered on time amyway,
