Night Lady of Central Park

Standing in the night
Waiting for herself alone
Loathing thoughts of home.

Thanks Dave,

You have inspired me to try. I know it's an awful haiku but it's my first attempt at this form of poetry. I don't know how to get it into the picture itself.

The photograph is one I have posted elsewhere but with some changes.

New in town and all alone
She was only a mechanics daughter
but she knew how to handle nuts

Nice image fella but haiku could do with livening up a tad I thought!

Amazing what must go on upstairs. This one is working much better than seated woman Mr. Hill........still rather see that grand piano.

I like the picture. I also like the haiku. Both make me sad. I think the B&W treatment is right for the picture (it also looks like there's some infrared applied somehow?). The "print" is well made, good contrast. The composition is strong and well balanced. It invokes emotion (sadness in me, but that's all right).

Sorry to be slow to pick up. You are correct but the figure is contemplating something unknown to us. It just left to imagination. Looks like she has had her share of "nuts."

Thanks for your take, Billy.

Wish I could see that grand piano. Maybe then something else would come to the old bean. Then, maybe not.

Thanks for the comments, Frank. I appreciate your eyes on this one.

Thanks for your thoughts, Chuck. Much appreciated. The feeling of sadness is about all the ladies who can not go home. There are more than one would think and that's so sad.

The shot is basically an IR photograph with a LifePixel converted Nikon P5100.

That you were and are able to make a living for thirty years with a similar camera is proof that highfalutin gear isn't necessary when you rely on the most important requirement - an eye attached to a perceptive brain.
