To Upgrade Elements 8?

Hi folks. I currently just take photos of family and of scenery that seems interesting. However, I'm trying to get better, and have been reading some of the books suggested on this site and have been applying the advice and tips posted.
So, here is my question. Is it worth it to upgrade from Photoshop 8 to Photoshop 10? For those who have upgraded, are you finding a big difference? Or is there another better, reasonably priced program that you use for post processing? Oh yeah, I use a t3i with the pre-packaged 18-55 and 55-250 lenses. I recently added the Canon 11-22.

You should not have any problems. My daughter had elements light and I offered her cs5. She saw mine and she thought it was too complicated for her. So I bought her elements 10 instead for $40.00 brand new. She took to it like a fish takes to water. Little does she know that 10 is about 95% of cs5. She has a newborn and does not get much computer time anymore and she whips right through it if this helps.

Elements 10 is a good upgrade from 8 -- the biggest changes were in 9 with a few additional in 10.

11 won't be out till Fall - they release the new one every year around Sept/Oct.

Right now on Amazon it's $82.49

If you belong to Costco or one of those types of clubs you can sometimes find it lower.

The way I learn PS is youtube. The last one I bought was PSE10 from Adobe for $100., when they come out with new ones wait 3 to 6 months and you can get them for 1/2 price.

You're welcome Bill! It's a great program for a great price!

The Adobe TV videos are great - and free! If you want a good book on Elements, I highly recommend the one by Scott Kelby & Matt Kloskowski -- http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Elements-Digital-Photographers-Voices/dp/032180824X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334100628&sr=8-1
Currently $31.20 on Amazon.

I am also a HUGE fan of the Elements Techniques newsletters. Save $10 on a 1 or 2 year subscription with this code:

Enjoy!
