Any information about this camera will be appreciated; particularly about its value. It's in very good working condition; with no dents, gouges, scrapes, or similar marks. Actually, it looks pretty darn good for an older film SLR! It has a very sharp Nikon 50mm Nikkor-S Auto f/1.14 lens with a protective filter all in like-new condition.

I had one exactly like it from 1969 - 1980. It was the entry-level Nikon SLR. It was also excellent, unless the ring around the lens mount containing a film resistor for the metering system got dirty or gritty. In that case, the meter would get really flaky.

Value isn't great. I paid 238 bucks new for mine in '69. It would be worth maybe $50 now, with a stable, accurate meter and shutter.

I have this Nikkormat FT-n since 1970 ser. #388xxxx, this model were made between 1969-1973, they had a FT-n2 on 1974. Now you still can find it used about $100 or less. I also have the Nikon FT-n Photomat from the same year. Used may costs $150 -$200. Both of mine are in excellent condition, I am keeping them as collectibles.

I disagree with you! It was the top of the line SLR from Nikon along with the Ft-n Photomat pro body at that time. Many pro used the Nikkormat as their back-up.

Sold a newer model a while back for $50 glad to get it.

It was and is a good camera, but was Nikon's foray out of pro land into enthusiast territory. It was never in a class with the F cameras. I was selling them back then!

I had a Nikkormat like yours except mine was all black. The body probably isn't worth as much as the lens is, if the lens is in good shape. Just for a heads up, that lens is a non AI-s lens so it won't mount on some of the modern cameras without a conversion to the aperture ring. Many people will be interested in that lens on ebay.

Go to EBay's SOLD listings and see what similar cameras and lenses sold for and you'll get an idea. Look at several add up what they sold for then divide by how many you have and get an average price. I hope this helps. Good Luck !!!

That is the asking price. These cameras go for much less on other sites. I used this camera for years and it is a real tank. Takes great photo's. Mine is currently holding down a pile of papers.

Well back then if you use a Nikon or Nikkormat it's the top of the line (and also the bottom of the line depending how you look at it) as they only had 1 model in their line up.

The price varies based on the condition and which model it is. Check used closed auctions on ebay to get an idea. I love that there is film in there...it's awesome to develop old film and see fragments of people's lives.

I had one in the 60's as a second body alongside a Photomic FTN. I could never get the hang of the odd shutter selector - a ring between the body and lens mount. The shutter curtain moved across the short length of the frame allowing a flash synch of 1/125 second.
