When I first saw this umbrella shaped patch of yellow yesterday I thought it was in a mimosa tree ..... there are lots of them in this neighborhood. Then I looked closer ...... and the leaves are all wrong. Unfortunately I haven't come much closer to identifying the tree, but I'm still working on it. If you'd like to help, I'd appreciate the assistance.

Nice one, Bob. Great color. Not sure on the species, tho. Not Mimosa, almost a sumac-like leaf arrangement, but it's not sumac.

Thanks Bob. When I think of Fall color, this is not the one I usually have in mind, but it's distinct nevertheless.

Thanks Randy. The leaf shape is almost like an elm, but elm leaves are not arranged as opposites on the branch as these ones are. I'm now leaning towards an ash tree. The color and arrangement on the branches are correct, but the localized outbreak of color has thrown me off.

Probably a white ash from what I've been reading and viewing on Google Images.

No clue what the tree is, Bob, as I hardly know a rose from a pomegranate! But it's a lovely image.

Thank you Mile. Bright, sunlit colors will soon be memories as winter descends on us and the trees lose all their leaves. I thought I would save a few shots to review later this year.

Thank you Kathy. After a more thorough Google search, I believe this to be a White Ash tree. Whatever it is, the bright yellow was eye-catching.

I think my neighbor has one . I'll get over there shortly and see if they know what it's name is.

Very nice, Bob and leaves are somewhat shaped like our Black Walnut trees.
