Nikon D300 Question

I am considering upgrading to a Nikon D7100. My question is what is a Nikon D300 in like new condition with all new rubber, original box and accessories worth? Has less than 12,000 shots. I would be offering just the body. I looked at ebay and the prices are all over the place.

Thanks

$100-$150 based on sold listings (USA) in working condition.

the lowest price I saw for working condition was $50 and the highest was $250 (pristine).

You may decide, as I did, to keep it for back-up...excellent camera that you can't sell for much $$.

Same reason I kept my D200. I still enjoy using it.

Don't sell it, keep using it, d200/300 excellent cameras. 12000 shots for D300 is nothing.

Well if my Nikon D300 is only worth a couple hundred bucks, if that, I will just keep it. Looks new, works perfectly and with 12,000 shot it has a long way to go .....

Thanks to all who responded!

Make sure when you list it to take photo's of box and all angles of your camera to show off it's condition. Your photo's of your camera will show off that it is a good value. I always set the price (for the auction) at a minimum that I would take for the camera. I usually get the price and sometimes the bidding drives the price even higher. Make sure you have a 100% rating and that you have a rating of at least 10, that will build trust with those that are looking at your camera.

I would hold on to it unless you can "gift" it to a family member or close friend with a deep interest in photography.

Or ... donate the camera to a school with a Photography program .... you can take the donation as a tax deduction ....

Keep it. It's worth much more to you as a backup than what it is wort as a trade in. I kept my D300s when I bought my d800. The only thing the D 7100 / 7200 will offer that's practicele for a hobbiest is better high ISO performance & video. In any case, buy REFURBISHED directly from Nikon or Adorama.

It is a fantastic camera and you will not get what it is really worth by selling it. Keep it and use as a backup.
