I am waiting to take delivery of my brand new (to me) Canon 5D MK II which has a "micro adjust AF" feature.

I stumbled across this software while researching how to do it.

You plug your camera into the PC, run the software and it doesn't everything with one button push...sets the AF for the sharpest focus and gives you all the data you'd want on your lens, the sweet spot, etc...

NOTE: It's now for both Canon AND Niconn

I ended up doing all four of my lenses; even with my "learning curve" the first time, it was about 20 minutes or so for the whole lot.

Every one of my lenses had to be adjusted for focus...they ALL front focused to one degree or another with my camera.

I ended up getting the "Pro" level that gives you all of the reports for your lenses; sweet spot, focus sharpness at every f/stop etc.

Here is a shot or two showing the results....it's simply stunning.
