but here are a few from our recent vacation in Andalucia, Spain.
All were taken with my new Fuji X-T1. I bought this camera specifically for taking on holiday rather than lugging around a few tons of Canon gear so this was its first proper outing. For the record, I'm quite pleased with it though the image quality is not up to the standard of my Canon 5D mk3 but then that would be expecting too much and I have to remind myself that this camera and lens cost an awful lot less than my Canon gear. That said I will definitely use it for future holidays.
Five shots in total.
Casares in Andalucia is built around the 12th century Castle and was founded by the occupying Moors. This is a stunningly beautiful town with a most unusual cemetery which we stumbled across. The graves are not in the ground but are a series of niches one above the other. We also visited a wonderful bodega here where we sampled a good few wines you may be able to see that Karen enjoyed herself!

Three bridges span the canyon in Ronda. This is a shot of the new bridge. The term "new" is a bit of a misnomer, as the building of this bridge commenced in 1751 and took until 1793 to complete. The Puente Nuevo is the tallest of the bridges, towering 120 metres (390 ft) above the canyon floor, and all three serve as some of the city's most impressive features. Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles spent many summers in Ronda as part-time residents of Ronda's old town quarter called La Ciudad. Both wrote about Ronda's beauty and famous bull-fighting traditions.

Wonderful series Bob. You could probably do wonders with an old Brownie or a pin-hole camera. Thanks for the history. Makes the series even more interesting. Our friends from Scotland are there right now.
I'm on a holiday with my kids and grandkids who live in Austin, Tx. Wow, is it ever hot here! I understand Spain can get pretty hot too.

Nice ones Bob, that camera takes excellent shots. If I win the lottery I have promised my wife I will buy property in Spain..as you Know, there are some stunning places to visit..and I have told her if she stops roughing me up I may consider taking her with me..
When you have holiday photos like this, I hope that you always share them. It gives the rest of us an idea of what's out there that we haven't been exposed to so we can plan our bucket lists!
Thanks for sharing,

Enjoyed your trip to Casares and information very much Bob it is indeed a very beautiful place. As you say the cemetery is certainly different, so well cared for. Did you have chance to see inside any Churches, they are beautiful?

Hi Doc, good to hear from you and pleased you like my holiday snaps and the bit of background information. In the summer months it does get really hot in this part of Spain though we were there a few weeks ago so it was much more comfortable.
Hope you're enjoying your holiday with your family in Texas.

Thanks for looking in Joe. The houses are indeed very close and the streets are very narrow and steep. It's a beautiful town and well worth a visit if you are ever in that part of the world.
