What to do with a Nikon N6006?

I have a Nikon N6006 body in excellent condition. I acquired it when I bought some gear a few months ago. I also have a couple of rolls of film, two batteries, original box and instructions. Is it worth anything to anyone? Any offer considered. Photos can be provided.

Judging by recent sales on ebay, it's not going sell for very much.

May I suggest reposting your camera and gear in the Members Buy, Sell or Trade Classified section and give it a shot. Ebay is not the definitive source of what the value may be to true photography enthusiasts. There has been a resurgence of interest in film cameras recently.

Greg, let us know if you do so. I would be interested.

Buy film... unless I owed a better film camera. I'd buy film and put my best lenses on that body... Doesn't take a lot to get a excellent exposure out of a 35mm! I'd shoot it, put it in my bag as my "digital shots are good, this one is set up perfect" and shoot that in film.... And know it's going to come out better than my best digital shots.

That's what I'd do with a N6006. Keep it in my camera bag and pull it out and stick a lens on it for my "best shot." (unless I have a better film camera, and I want an F6, but only have a N80 to shoot film).

If you think film is dead, you are an idiot. Film is so much richer and detailed than digital, but... HUGE UGLY BUTT... It's going to cost you... At least $0.60 an exposure, minimum. And you better know what you are doing, because you can't come back or bracket that one shot. You "save" those film moments still, and only take them when they are truly brilliant.

Good comment. The trouble with digital (I shoot travel and nature). is that you end up constantly shooting and forget to use your other senses such as listening to your surroundings. I am a better photographer with film, but like you say I have to watch the cost..

I sold that camera on eBay a few years back. I think I got $50 or less.

With sincere respect, Chicopee, I think the OP should market his camera via a venue such as UHH addressed to ENTHUSIASTIC USERS rather than a retail seller who will buy lowball (or "no ball") in order to tack on a markup. KEH and eBay prices sometimes reflect an overstock of "average"-level gear that is cluttering up their shelves. If the OP has a camera in EX, EX+ or LN- condition he should price the camera in accord with how much UTILITY it has left, not how old it may be.

Donate it to your high school if they have photo classes. When my daughter took 2 photo classes in high school (about 3 years ago), the school had only 2 film bodies available for the class (of 15 or so students). Fortunately, I still had 2 of my Minolta srt 101 for her to use.
