Brush tool in Lightroom CC

I have two desktop Macs and a macbook pro - the problem I am having is with the brush tool on both the desktops - it works fine on my laptop.

When I try to make a brush adjustment, no matter what I do with the sliders, nothing seems to happen, can any hogs help with this matter, it is driving me mad. Thank you

You need to use the brush first before you can make adjustments.

I click on the brush, I then adjust the size that I require, from there I usually over-set the exposure to see where I am going and tick the show mask. Then readjust exposure etc to the correct amount. I do all this and nothing happens at all, really weird as I do the same on my laptop and it works.

Maybe there is something in settings I am not doing. I just don't know.

You need to use the brush, start "painting" with it and once you do that you will be able to see your adjustnents or make adjustments

Make sure the Brush Flow and Density, near the bottom of the brush panel, are NOT set at very low values.

Choose the Brush
Check flow etc.
Check mask on and paint
UNCHECK THE MASK
Move the sliders
Done

What I didn't realise was the flow and density sliders were hidden, I have found them now and all looks ok. Thank you all once again.

PS Can't open LR CC for some reason, I purposely haven't updated too!!! Oh well you lose some and win some.

Try signing out, reboot, sign in again. sometimes works.

Don't update unless you have been shopping for new cameras. The update contains very minor improvements and a huge decline in import flexibility. That is apart from all the crashes it has caused (mainly Macs).

I've tried this with PSE 10, mostly trying to use Clone, Healing brush, or copy and paste over objects I want to remove, but when I then go on with the other PP adjustments all the previous 'enhancements' show up.

What am I doing wrong or am I misunderstanding the question? My work flow is, in order, usually level, crop to get rid of the leveling edges, then color, lighting, shadows, contrast, etc then the removal of unwanted items.

Linda's question was with Lightroom which has a very different interface than PSE10.

Open a new thread with the same question, but please describe the problem in a little more detail. It is possible a layers dilemma rather than brushes.

I did the same thing with LR5, and was convinced that the brush did NOTHING. Found the flow/opacity settings and realized that the people doing tutorials on youtube weren't all just conspiring to drive me crazy by doing things that I couldn't replicate.

This is another fine example of why UHH is awesome. Youtube is great for learning, but they often skip steps. Ask on here, and within minutes, you'll get several tips on how to get where you want to be.
