That's a great feature, and it doesn't get in the way at all. It's perfect for high and low shots.

I didn't think too much about the articulating screen feature when I bought the D750, but I have to say that having it is so nice and definitely a bonus! It's great for framing low level shots while looking straight down at the screen. Also allows you to be much less conspicuous at times in street photography. You have to use liveview which is still slow and clumsy, but in good light and a with little practice it is really useful! I love having it!

I have the same type screen on both of my D5100's and both have survived 5 years of use. I've found it very handy for getting shots that are in difficult positions. I've also used it during dances that I cover to get looking down into the crowd shots. Sometimes those work and sometimes not because it's harder to get an exact focus using that screen instead of the viewfinder, ESP if your subject is moving (ie dancing). I usually end up holding the camera up high and tilting it downward into the crowd and get great shots that way instead. That said, I do not have that screen on my new D7100's and I do miss it a little.

I just got my D750. When one uses the tilting LCD i assume being live view that the mirror is up blocking the light from the viewfinder. Thus you do not have to cover the viewfinder which would affect the metering??
