Pittock Mansion Staircase

My son got married in Portland, OR. After he and his bride left on their honeymoon we took the opportunity to explore this beautiful area. The Pittock Mansion is a French Renaissance-style "château" in the West Hills of Portland. It was originally built as a private home for The Oregonian publisher Henry Pittock and his wife, Georgiana. The entire house is fascinating but these stairs were the centerpiece.

having been in construction all my life I can tell you there aren't too many craftsman left who would be able to do this . These shots are amazing!
