Issues with my work flow wheng going fromPR to Photoshop to LR

I have a question regarding changes that occur when going from LR to Photoshop and then back to LR. I have noticed that when I adjust a photo in LR and then edit it in Photoshop and then reopen the photo in LR is looks substantially different than my initial changes that I made in LR. To be more specific, let's say I makes specific adjustments to exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, white, and black in the develop module. I then choose edit in photoshop. The only changes I make in photoshop are to remove some unwanted details in the background. Then I save in Photoshop. Upon reopening in LR, my sliders are substantially different and I have to make adjustment to them again. Am I missing something here? I'm using LR 5.7 and Photoshop CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open your history panel in PS and post the history along your layers panel with the photo will greatly help diagnose the issue. Since you said you are removing unwanted details, I assume you have to use layers. If you are round tripping a layered file it should come back in as a PSD, or TIFF depending on what your preferences are set to. These types of files will read the data differently than a RAW or JPG file. IN LR I would put your original file and the newly imported Tiff/PSD on the Compare mode and see what the differences are.

The LR colour space is Adobe Pro-photo. Adjust the colour space in Photoshop to match.

When you go to Photoshop you have a choice
1 Edit in PS with LR adjustments
or 2 Edit a copy.
Choose number 1
