Hi my name is Kathy and I just found this site today. I am fairly new to photography but am loving it.

I recently purchased a Nikon D7000 and have since went completly to manual mode. I am learning a lot and hope to learn a lot more.

Can't wait to get reading some of the forums on this site.

The D7000 is a sweet camera. One thing I have learned is a camera is only as good as the lens you have on it. I have a 50mm 1.4 prime lense that is amazing. The only thing I don't like is you have to do a lot of moving around. I miss being able to zoom in and out. But the lens is great.

Here is a picture I took for a Senior shot. I can't seem to get the colors right. I am using Corel PaintShop Pro 3.

To be honest, the photo is not worth correcting. The background is blown out and distracts from the subject. Sometimes as photographers we need to say "darn it..." and move onto the next photo. I'm sure you have plenty of other nice shots in your set to spend your time on.

Did this real quick with CaptureNX2 by Nikon. Prefer it over PS. The sky can also be made to a blue tone. A lot of options with that prog. Can get a 30 day trial version.

I know you are right. I did try one more thing in Corel Paintshop Pro. I added a blue sky from a different photo. What do you think of this or should I still trash it?
