I am interested in printing onto aluminum substrate. Has anyone done this?

I have contacted Horizons Imaging Systems Group (ISG) inquiring about compatibility of their AlumaJet sheets with my Canon Pro-100 printer. I have also requested a sample packet for trial sheets. I will post their reply.

There is an interesting video and product prices here: http://alumajet.com .

I checked them out a couple years ago. They were more industrial then, maybe gotten more photogenic now. They sent me some printed samples, bout 4x6. I'll see if they're still around.

You can always check out ChromaRoll, http://www.chromaroll.com

They used to have mirror finish aluminum sheets, now it's a brush finish, with adhesive.

I received a 4x5-inch pre-printed AlumaJet example, satin finish. I am not impressed. Still looking.

I'm thinking, what you're wanting is a print, dye-sublimated, on coated mill finish aluminum panel.

Watch for some just sticking a vinyl print, on a piece of aluminum. I haven't seen any, just heard of some doing it, since the 'metal prints', have become so popular.

I know this thread is a bit old, but...

In the signage industry, it's quite common to do direct to substrate (in this case aluminum) printing. Lately though, I've been using this company, and my clients (albeit they were family Christmas gifts) loved the results.

Just make sure you find a coupon online to use...cuts the price almost in half.

This place also does amazing work...
