Yes! It is home at last!

When you start a new topic, it defaults to the main section unless you're already in the section you want (I think).

It's very nice image. a toy box of shapes stacked up against each other in every direction. You can see the "real" image, but the pleasure of it is tracing the shapes and traveling from one of them to the other then following the converging lines down that tunnel. The color is lagniappe but it helps us in the following.

Hi Min,

Thank goodness I finally got it right. That rongononano (sp) fellow told me how to get the right section. I have not had any problems before. I had received a PM from Admin telling me my post had been moved to Photo gallery. Very strange, indeed.

The use of the word you ascribed to the colour tells very nicely which part of the country your are from. I have never heard that word used by anyone. The colours are all natural with the exception of an increase of contrast with a bit of darkening.

I don't look at is an anything other than a nice restful image that leads nowhere in particular. Except there is someone walking on the sidewalk at the far end. But too small to be seen. I did not see her in the viewfinder.

Thanks for answering my plea. I am always appreciative of you wonderful eye and communication skills. I gotta go look at you new lighthouse. I'll bet it a knockout.

"Visionary" indeed! And technically very well executed since the dynamic range is very broad! I did not see the walker at the very end until you mentioned (her?). She's what I've heard called an "Easter egg," and I like her there! It lends a sense of humanity to a scene that would otherwise risk sterility. Cities are full of humans. We might ask where are they? Oh, there's one!

Repetitions, colors, geometry, leading lines; nothing screaming at the viewer; interesting enough to meander through the photo. I love it!!!

Quite different for you Mr Hill and quietly and undramatically interesting. The same scene thronged with shoppers may be a good project.

Thanks Chuck. Your review is much appreciated. I must admit that I was surprised at the humanity factor one tiny little figure can add to expanse. I like your term "Easter egg."

Thank you Edie. You caught the idea. I had to wait awhile before the area was devoid of humans. I didn't notice the gal at the end of the corridor until later. I thought it would stand as a representation of the Day After - but let others decide.

Thanks Billy. Appreciate your commenting on the piece.

It's usually busy with shoppers and other types. Had to wait for awhile before the folk all disappeared to, or into, wherever it was they were going. It wasn't long before it was again populated. This was my fourth or fifth visit over a couple days to the spot I had chosen to make the "empty" photo. Maybe I should have had a megaphone and shouted something like, "Every one take cover, immediately." Ha! I'm afraid that would have earned me a trip to local nut-house.

I'll see if I can catch it again with folks walking about doing their thing. Not very good at that kind of stuff.

What I find most interesting are the lines. Everything, including the sun and of course shadows work together.

You captured this at a rare moment as a few days before or a few days later and the sun/earth relationship would have changed and the convergent lines would not be so well captured.

Photographs like this one have been sold for a fortune!

What follows is not a criticism but a comment that says more about myself (as a pixel peeper)

My suspicion was right... This is not a recent picture. I thought winter but it was April. (detail of no importance) After inspecting it again I could have guessed better as the leaves in the trees are barely coming out. What tipped me off is the woman in dark closing. That prompted me to look at the EXIF.

Thanks Rongnongno, I do appreciate your review of the piece. It seems you know the difficulty of making such a photograph. Eventually it came about. In this case patience WAS a virtue. Like you said, however, a few days either way might not have produced the effect. Passing by later there was not the same feeling as when first considered.
