I just started using win. 10 and I'm having a little trouble with some things.

How do I make an icon on my desktop? Right clicking just don't work. I have never known how to *book mark* a page and then find it when I need it. Thanks in advance...

You can move an empty folder from Explorer to your desk top then right click on the folder and click properties then click the custom tab and then the change icon button.

By icon, we'll assume you mean Shortcut and they can be made the same way as with Win 8.1 or 7 or XP, etc.

1.Right-click or tap and hold any blank place on the Windows 10 Desktop.
2.Choose New > Shortcut.
3.Pick one of the ms-settings apps listed below and type it into the input box. ...
4.Click Next, give the shortcut a name, and click Finish.

Right-click on the file or folder you want on your desktop.
Choose "Create Shortcut Here"
Right-Click on the shortcut and select "Change properties."
As mentioned, you can change the icon for the file or folder.
Generally speaking, the shortcut you created will have the icon or logo of the program you made a shortcut of.
A folder with images in it should show the first image in the folder, as its icon.bookmarks are made from the browser you use. Not at my computer right now but you can usually create a bookmark by dragging the symbol in the ADDRESS WINDOW to the Favorites bar which is usually just under the Address area/window.
To organize your bookmarks, you can Right-Click on the Favorites bar and choose "New Folder." You would then be able to change the name of the folder appropriately and then drag corresponding bookmarks into that folder.
FYI within the folder you can right-click and drag the bookmark up or down to change the order or alphabetize them.

Can't help you with windows 10 but bookmarking with windows 7 is easy enough that I can do it (I'm not computer savvy) I click on the "star" in the address bar at top right to bookmark, then on the 3 dark gray lines farther to the right to bring up options, including bookmarks.

The simplest means of creating a shortcut on your desktop, is to find the thing you want the shortcut to in Windows Explorer. Then drag it using the RIGHT mouse button to the desktop. Upon releasing the button, a menu will appear asking if you want to Copy, Move or Create Shortcut.
