Interesting reading. Perhaps we should have a section in the FAQ titled “Etiquette’s of Critiquing”.
I liked the part about getting critiqued. “don't get defensive … in fact shut the hell up.” I have been ripped for giving my honest opinion.

Good idea for the FAQ. I found the parts on being specific especially useful. It will make me think more on both ends of giving and receiving.

My thought is that if you don't want my honest opinion about your photograph, then why ask. An opinion that is not an honest opinion is no opinion at all.

For me the important part was to be specific. Don't just say you like it or it doesn't work. Say why and talk about what's good and bad, don't just focus on one or the other.
