Yes, they are really good. And represent a series of images taken with a variety of different IR filters and doing channel swapping to get the blue skies.
With an IR modified camera, they are really easy to take. Some have a filter installed during the conversion process, but then you are stuck with that filter. Or you can leave the filter off and create a full spectrum camera and then need to add a filter to the lens.
I have gone the full spectrum route and enjoy the ability to use a variety of filters.
Here is a web site from a company that specializes in these customizations and there is a lot of information provided.

Thanks FRENCHY. Yes, they are gorgeous. I had thought of taking some IR pictures, and bought a filter for my Canon. Then found out that they don't work on Canons. Something about an IR filter in front of the sensor. Maybe one of the Hogs can let me know if I'm wrong. I once read about a photographer that had a 5D Mkll modified for IR! That's dedication.

Infrared camera conversion is the best way. I have a Canon 30d converted, use it extensively. Get one you won't regret it, lots of fun.
I had my Canon G3 converted for IR (no filter) a few years ago.
