If you got the FREE download there is no product key.

If you downloaded it and upgraded, the key will be the same as your old operating system.

There are two versions, one completely free (this is the most popular and the one I have used for several years) and there is also the professional version which is to be paid for. I haven't looked at the Pro version, but I think it is aimed at corporations with complex networks.
Simple to use once installed, just click the icon and it look (with your permission) to the home site to check for updates, then it will scan your computer and the result is displayed on the screen and can be printed out.
The kind of info you get is:
All your keys
A list of all programs and their relative usage during the past year or two
Missing security updates
etc
I have attached a screen clip of part of the first page of my computer's profile.
The program runs as an .exe executable by which I mean it is not actually installed on your computer, just click and it runs.
No viruses, no popups, no advertising, just a wealth of useful information.
