Really need your HONEST opinions....
I would take out #5, and use one of 6-9 - background is tough in all, esp #9. I would pick one of 10 11 & 13.
I would recommend a tight crop of just the eye in #1 - you have superb detail in there ! Here's an example
I'm with Rivernan. I like #3 with the hawk silhouetted against the sun and the use of the star filter. I like #6 as well, but the bright background is bothersome. It needs to be toned down with some p/p. #9 is also a great capture.
#s 2-4-6-8-11-13. Like your Easter dress Rivernan. You are such a doll.

# 6 of these photos does it for me. But, my question to you- why would you leave out some of your best work? Your Dragonfly post had some professional quality photos, IMO. Also, one of my favorite photos of yours is the Baby Duck sunning.
Thank you very much Molly! I have a couple that I am going to enter that I did not post here.
Was this the sleepy duck that you were talking about? How about this dragonfly?
These two will take first and second place... let the others fight over the rest of the spots!!
They're all great but 2,4,9 are my favorites. Good luck!
#6 & 7 But my favorite is #3. I love the back lighting on the hawks wings. Maybe just a bit more cropping though. Just don't dump #3
I would lose 3 & 5 - and keep 10 and 13. The others are somewhere in between. Although you seem to have pretty darn good focus as in sharpness - I don't feel real good about some of the backgrounds. To me I find some of lines of the folige to be a destraction, but the calls in any contest are very subjective. Witness the replies you have so far - all over the map. I have know idea of what they are looking for and often I believe the judges themselves can not define it, but just know it when they see it. Good luck.
I thought the colors you captured in # 3 were great.
#3 and #9 are the standouts for me.
#6 could be good with some of that background cloned away.
I think the composition of #3 could be improved. I'd like to see the sun in the top left quadrant and the image rotated so that the Sun and bird are on a corner to corner diagonal. Some cropping if not already a big crop.

I am not a fan of 3 or 5 but the rest are great... Good Eye and beautiful shots... Good Luck to you
I agree with Kim. In #5, the eyes of the bird do no stand out as they should. Still, these are great photos. What lens or lenses were you using?
Agree with Riverman. No.3 has a lot going for it, but it has too much nothing in it, unless you are trying to emphasise the BIG sky. I would be tempted to crop it to a vertical format and lose around a third from each side.
Bear in mind that judges will look at the technical merits of pictures, but they are greatly influenced by how interesting a picture is.
I agree, go with your gut
for what it is worth:
my favorites 4 and 9
my least favorites -- 5,12,13
