You have it RiverNan photo manipulation is what it is. No art in Billy's head. Just whats left of a brain after years of substance abuse.
Glad you enjoyed it and trust all is well with you and yours.

The black and white version seems to have more detail near the back of the boot. Gut reaction is that I like it. Then I started to try and figure out how it was all put together. I think I have a basic idea. I like how you incorporated wings in the heal of the boot. I also like the light on the toe. The boot itself seems to have had a hard life. The background material works with this composition and the red spots are a bonus. Good thing it is only a well crafted composite. Wouldn't want it to be art though, that would mess up the whole thing. You still got me thinking.

in regards to critique...I have looked at both images now
I prefer the color...I like the red twinkles adding to the other worldly effect...I do wish you used a left and right wing for the back of the boot rather than two right wings.

The angel before he fell was on perimeter of heaven duties so only flew around in circles using one wing. The other was purely for aesthetic reasons. With promotion to internal heavenly operations he would have have been provided with new footwear and two fully operational wings.
Glad you liked my effort RiverNan.

I cast my vote for the color. I like the way the back of the shoe tends to blend into the background without the sharp contrast of the B&W version.

I like the Color one better. I believe you added the bird on a layer in PS posibly in some blend mode. I would like to see the bird at 100% and not see the shoe string behind the tail feathers. I think you did a great job love it Billy.
