Wished there was a download and your link is missing, although I like the B&W very much.

Nothing to dislike with this one Mr. Spad.......truly exceptional in my view, remember though my view is usually from the cheap seats.

I find the color version pleasant but too dark and somber, more like a bedtime fall asleep story. Much more detail in the B&W with a lighter, happier end of story feeling.

The BW conversion is straight from the colour one Frank but has revealed a lot more detail for some reason. I much prefer the boot in the mono version.

I guess that I'm different (Frank won't disagree with that). I like the color version better but I like both.

Seems, to me, that the Roman god Mercury needs new shoes, the old ones worn out over time; the dove inspecting what needs to be done. The twinkling effect sets the picture of other-worldliness.

I much prefer the b&w version. Personally, I find the colors distract from the image, not complementary or enhancing. I really like your choice of background, which is complementary to the texture of the shoes and its laces, and which can be appreciated more in b&w. Even the black outline on the periphery works, for me, better in b&w than in the color version. It is not as intrusive and helps us hone in on the image.

I really like this image. Its story is one I see, not necessarily right or wrong, or what the artist had in mind. In any case, the skill of the photographer in placement, use of shadow and texture, and imagination are on display.

A very strong image, Billy. The tonalities are perfect for the degradation of he shoe and the laces are the coup d'état.

I think the white bird may be a distraction but not certain of that. I do like the wings at the heel. Have not seen the colour but it certainly couldn't be as strong as the b/w.

Excellent work.

I have a leaning towards the mono version Jim but voting seems about even. Im with you on the white bird and after putting it in and taking it out combined with moving it about what you see is what we got lol
Im getting too old for decision making I reckon.

Glad ya liked it my friend

I like the basics of this one Billy - the shoe and the dead crow or raven. I think it's surely art:), what else might it be? My mind is unsettled by Willmut (isn't that his name?) but he's growing on me. Where I have trouble is the background, which leaves the shoe flying when I'd rather it just sit upon something. But of course, the artist's intent is probably flight, so....

Aw min that word again! And ol.Billy cant reply cos it irritates some folks to think their work is not art. So lets say its Billyart which aint quite the same thing but hopefully keeps the peace with our more sensitive members.
Hows about that for tact and diplomacy huh

You are widely known for tact and diplomacy as well as (art). You should re-read Jim's eloquent treatise on these phenomena daily just before beginning work on your (art) projects:) We all see it through our own eyes and blessedly we have no Official Pronouncement that governs our opinions.
