Has anyone used this lens & what are your impressions & comments?
I shoot with Nikon D7100. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I use it on my Canon. Nice lens. Sort of heavy, but otherwise, very satisfied with it.
I have the lens and use it on my D810. Terrific combination. But, for my D7200, I use the Sigma 17-70mm CONTEMPORARY lens. As good, and a bit wider on that camera. And, I bought new on eBay for just $350.00!
Avemal - if this is the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 DI VC USD model, the field of view equivalent on an APS-C body is 36-105mm. You might look for Tony Northrup's review of the Tamron vs the Nikon 24-70. Interesting results.

Bought mine to use on a D7100, liked it and now use it on D800 and D810, still like it.

Don't forget to check out Tokina's version of that lens, it is much, much better optically!!
I use it for sports events but its speed of focus is not fast which is a drawback for me. Otherwise it is a good lens.

Exactly. Slow to focus. Also not as heavily built as the Nikon equivalent. It may take as good of photos when it is new, but it isn't nearly as durable and doesn't focus as quickly.
I traded mine off for the Nikon as soon as I had enough money.
I've had that lens for a year and love it. However it is a bit heavy.

Yes It is an excellent lens for all general photography except the fastest sports action and wildlife photography, where the Canon and Nikon lenses can do just a little bit better job of fast follow focusing. It features excellent Vibration Control (IS/VR equivalent). If you stop down to between f/4 and f/8, it will not disappoint. At smaller apertures than f/8 on a D7100, you're going to see diffraction limiting of sharpness, as with ANY lens.
Build quality of Tamron lenses is generally excellent, and they have a six year warranty. They're about half the cost of OEM lenses. Unless you're a successful working pro, a sports photographer, or you just have lots of money to blow on lenses, they're great substitutes for the OEM brands.

I have one that stays on my FF Canon 95% of the time. It's very sharp with good contrast. It's heavy (about two pounds I think), but virtually all good 24-70/2.8 lenses are heavy. I probably would not recommend it for a crop frame camera, I prefer something like a 17-55 for those.
I own and shoot with lens, and find it a really nice lens. I do shoot only Canon, at the time I bought the lens, Canon did not make a 24-70 with IS. As for your Nikon System, I'm sure it will be a fine lens for your Nikon.

I'd like to add to my previous post. I did send the Tamron SP 24-70mm back to Tamron to have it "tuned" to the specs. of my new Canon EOS 7D Mark II. Once done it performed much better on both the 6D and Mark II, with faster focus, and more accurate focus. Also, keep in mind the Tamron lenses are warrantied for 6 years, and can be sent back for any reason in 6 year time frame. The only caveat is to get the warranty, you must prove you're the original purchaser, with a valid receipt from a Tamron dealer.
