Good idea to convert to black and white. I love the perspective on the flower. I'm guessing that the bird is an addition. You blended expertly and it works. Nicely blurred background.

What a gorgeous photo!!! Has a surreal quality to it. The lighting on the petal and through the wings is magnificent. If it were in dazzling colors, would remind me of Gaugin.
Would like to see that flower in color because color is such a special feature of flowers. more so than many other subjects.

The blurring is via a Sigma 10 -20 mm and if you do not own one buy it!!
Best thing since sliced bread. Super sharp fast focus and some great effects available. You will love it fella.
Willmot did indeed arrive late, his timekeeping is not the best, and had to squeezed in. Glad you like it Erich.

In color its a tad garish Edie like many tropical flowers. It was always planned with surreal in mind and Wilmott's inclusion and trust me its all works better in mono. It simplifies what was a busy color print.

Needed a totally different shot for color to work and that would not have been Billy's world. This is you see from the mind of a tortured artist living in squalor and starving with only his one bowl of gruel a day. Which of course has now to be shared with Wilmott as well as the two dogs, Norman the cat and Mrs Billy.
I sometimes get tempted to go back to the life I knew and was comfortable with as a shelf stacker at Wallmart but like all the other folks with a camera on the Hog am driven to produce art whatever hardships I have to endure lol.

Finally, the truth emerges in Billy's own hand.
Nice shot, don't want to see it in color. Is Willmot a regular or a passerby? Might need to know more about him. I like that he is almost hidden and it takes a second look to find him. He is quite small, a fairy-like critter, which makes him more interesting. Is he really that small, or is the flower that large, or is this a creation of Billy-art with skewed proportions?
Aw min ya trying to trap me huh!
Shot with my new super dupery Sigma Wide angle min which is why its skewed as it is. Wilmott is indeed small and fairy like is a good description. He is destined to reappear I feel so watch this space!
Billy-art my butt gal!!!!!!!! Just a plain ol' picture.
