I was there yesterday and very lucky because my wife and I drove for about 2 hours in and out of rain showers and just before we made it to Hullett the rain stopped. I have lived in the area for the past 16 years and never made it to the Tower so now i CAN SAY I have been and seen.

super cool, kind of looks like a giant tree stump. You sure take good pictures...wait for it, wait for it...
Great shots! Thanks for posting these.
I love living in the area I now live in it makes for a lot of great sites in which to get pictures. I used to live in western mass and made the trip to the sea coast several times a year and for a time I worked in Newport RI so there also were great pictures to be had ....but not like the parks, wild life, and just the natural beauty. And for those that love shooting thing like old ghost town and the remains of log homes that were villages a 100 years ago this is the place to be. This area was the home of the Homestake Gold Mine and now is home to all of the small towns that grew up around it, such as the Gambling town today of Deadwood and towns like Lead and Rochford towns that today are not more that a few houses at the end of the road. So what I have done on several topics are to put some of these towns in picture format or at least try to show you folks the essence of what is there today.
Superb series. Looks like a place I would love to visit. Have you tried playing with the photos in photomatix? I think it might be interesting to see. Fantastic photos for sure! Glad you finally made it there and shared your photos.

No I haven't these are the way the camera saw them but I invite all that want to to try to dress them up if you want to. I myself see no harm in fact it might be interesting I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 but I would be one of the first to say tha tI have not really got a full handle on it yet and I am not sure that I have the time to really learn all of the ins and out so I leave that to those that love doing just those things. I just checked and I see they are not set up to download if you want to play with them let me know and I will put up the out of the camera so that you can down load and see what you can do with them. That would be cool. I would have fun playing with them. I use paintshop pro x5, photomatix, lightroom 4. I don't usually download other people's photos anyway but I would be more than happy to try a few

Not a problem Horseart I think that this country of ours has so many wondrous site's and places that we will never in a thousand years see all there is to see but through sites like this every body sharing either views from where they live or from where they have been then we all get to travel there with them even if it is only to put our selves in there pictures. I drove big rig for 35 years and I saw the country all 48 and Canada and Northern Mexico but only from the seat of a rig not as a tourist now that I am retired my wife and I are starting to see the things tha tare behind and out of site of the Big Roads and the Truck Stops.
excellent shots, didn't Richard Dryfus make it out of mashed potato in the film
Before I do it would you like several pictures that I also have of wolves these belong to a friend and they are kept in a cage and are semi tame but still have a very wild side to them they just a few weeks ago were rough housing with the owner and it got a little out of hand and one of them tore his finger open it happens once in a while he said but I do have some pictures that is the wires of the Kennel were removed they would be real nice I think.
