I went to a event this last Saturday, Moody, Texas Cotton Fest, with a plan in mind.

I have been going to lot's of events lately, two car shows last weekend, This weekend I had a plan for a picture, I needed a picture of someone with a hat, I shot several pictures at the cotton fest where they had a parade, booths, venders and a auction, really had a good time.

The small town parade wasn't exactly the what you call the Tournament of Roses parade :-D but it was ok.

I was shooting the streets when I saw this young lady sitting on the curb, more like a dock than a curb, she had a hat on and I thought that's my target, I went up to her and said hi, and she smiled and said hi to me, I then ask her If I could have her picture and she smiled some more and said of course, that made me smile :-D

I took the angle a little low because I wanted to shoot under the hat, I told her thank you very much and she said you are welcome.

So after some cropping, replacing the background, some effects in Perfects, photoshop actions, grunge, textures lighting effects, soft light overlays, dodge and burns and more adjustments here is a before and after.

What a lovely shot, Johnny, and made even more so by your expert post work! Excellent work, and I love the story leading up to the shot. :-D I'm so glad to see you, Johnny. I hadn't seen you in a while and was on the verge of shooting you an email to see if all was well with you and yours. I'm relieved to know that your absence has been due to your gallivanting about the countryside and not due to illness. :D :D

Hats off to you sir. Very nice job in creating number 2 from number 1. Inspiring.

I hope you got the young lady's number. It would be a shame if she couldn't see what you did. I am thinking she and her family would cherish it.
