671 Page Owner's Manual

WTF? That's the # of pages of the owner's manual for a Canon iP7200 photo printer that I bought new for $74.00. And that's all in English.

I bought this cheap one to use primarily for printing on DVDs. To get this thing printed might cost nearly as much as the printer. To make matters worse, how to print on a DVD/CD is buried under a non-intuitive menu section. When manuals are this large, I just do better referring to a printed one. Guess I'll have to suffer with the on-screen version.

Gosh, the owner's manual for my Canon 6D is only 404 pages.

Sometimes you wonder what they were thinking when generating such a large information manual.

I just purchased a Toshiba 5T external hard drive for my working photos. The instruction manual was 1 page. I followed instructions, transferred lots of data to the new unit and could not rename it to reflect my name and pictures. After an hour on the help line, where their solution was to reformat the drive. I hung up and decided to live with it.

These are two extreme examples of companies providing too much or too little information as support. Good luck with your printer. I hope it is a work horse for you.

I know what you mean. After about 1/2 hr of punching keys, I managed to print out the printing directions for DVDs. However, there are no instructions re actually placing the disk in the holder, which is on the bottom of the top tray (photo paper tray). I would have thought they would have at least shown a picture of a disk correctly placed. I suppose the top of the DVD is placed facing down.

I remember when many programs came with an actual, printed, paper manual! Wowzer! Our aging cell phones have an on-line manual, formatted to make printing out very difficult.

At least my Pentax K 5 came with a printed manual. Funny, back in the day any reasonably competent photographer could pick up a pro-level camera, like my Pentax LX and figure out most of its operations in only a few minutes. Try THAT on almost any digital camera!
