What is the preferred computer monitor you guys use/like in the 24"-30" range where cost and performance are important (most bang for the buck). Also I may be moving to a Apple Laptop soon and want something compatible with the Apple too.
Thanks,
If you are considering moving to a Mac you should take look at the iMac either the 21.5" or the 27". Both offer superlative screen res. You could also consider using a Mac Book, and using the 27" Mac Display. If you consider a Mac and you wish to save some money check out the Mac refurb store. If you purchase any hardware from Mac, laptop, iMac, iPad, etc., especially refurb purchase the Apple Care, it not only extends the warranty, but gives you tech support beyond the warrant period
One other thing you might want to consider is a calibration device to ensure that what you see on the screen is what comes out of the printer. I just purchased a Spyder2 unit from eBay for ~$95.00. It's designed for a single use monitor (versus multiple monitors running off a network). I think it will pay off over time. Ink & paper are expensive. Burning bad prints due to calibration errors is a lose-lose.
Thanks all. I am seriously looking at the 27" iMac since I will be moving to a iMac. I might just go ahead and get a iMac laptop and ditch this Dell laptop. If you buy a refurb from the online Apple store do they charge sales tax?
Theres no compatibility issues with mac and monitors
Yes on the sales tax. Shipping is free and comes with a new warranty.

The iMac 27" is a great choice. If Apple has a brick and mortar store in VA they will charge sales tax. You might also want to check with Mac Mall, and take a look at their prices vs Apple. Mac Mall is reputed to be the largest Apple re-seller, you may be able to avoid the sales tax issue. In some instances their shipping is also free. On this coast they ship out of a warehouse in Memphis, TN which makes it short trip via Fed Ex.
www.macmall.com.
You can still customize you iMac or Mac Book Pro. You can also find their prices on software might be less expensive than the Apple Store prices for software and accessories. Good Luck you will not regret it
