VR - Some More

There was a discussion a week ago about VR (IS, OS) and tripods, etc. Below is a page from a Nikon lens manual.

When it says not to turn off the camera or remove the lens while the VR is in operation, I think that means that the VR is actually working - doing something. I don't think it means that we have to turn the VR switch to OFF if the camera is idle.

As for VR with a tripod, the consensus was not to use it, and that is correct. With a monopod, VR should be turned on.

Thank you, Jerry! This helps us realize our cameras are, indeed, predictable devises and not actually possessed by demons or spirits!

I think as soon as you trip the shutter, run the opposite direction as fast as you can

I buy cheap wiggly tripods so I can leave the VR on all the time. Smart huh!!!!!!!!
