Digital framing in LR

Is anyone aware of an add on to LR that will place a frame/matte combination around the photo for printing? To clarify, not the squiggly smoke swirls but an honest looking frame and matte including shadowing.

LR does not do layering, and thats what you need to create a decent frame / matt.

The border examples provided by Cdouthitt are of course excellent borders for LR, I might have read something into the OP's question, but I thought he did not want Vignetting borders. Sorry if I read that into the post if it was not the case

You can export to Picasa (it's a free download from Google) and do framing there. It has two different framing options that you can manipulate just about any way you wish, including an entire spectrum of colors and stacking. It won't do shadowing, though.

Thanks, we are on the right track but I would like to accomplish this with RAW files, not converted. This is for printing from LR only, once printed I no longer need the frame portion. Is there a plugin for PS CC that will allow me to accomplish the framing? This would be an acceptable alternative to doing it all in LR. I want to keep the steps involved to a minimum. LR and PS does this nicely.

Around the 2 minute mark...is that what you're looking for?

I found an answer that works very well and gives both realistic frame and matte. If you're interested, go here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OA-3teJOns.
