Canon A10, still have it somewhere.
Mine was a Kodak EasyShare Z760. 6.1MP 3X Optical Zoom (4x Digital Zoom?). As I recall it took pretty nice pictures. I don't remember a lot of details as this was 2005 and I did not keep the camera long. I soon gave it to a friend after replacing it with a Kodak EasyShare P716, 7.1MP. This one was more like an "early" bridge camera. Actually I wish I had not given the Z760 away as I actually liked it better, much easier to use and IQ pretty similar. They both now have defects or broken parts but are still usable.
My first DSLR is a Pentax K-20D, 14MP, 2009. I skipped on the kit lens business and separately purchased a fancy / pricey smc Pentax-DA* f/2.8 16-50mm yada-yada Zoom Lens for it. I also had a large number of Pentax "film" lenses ready to use as well.

A Sony but I don't remember the model. I used it for a few years before turning it over to my daughter. She is still using it.
Canon S-45, it was built like a brick; great camera for the money.

I'm with CO. I shot a Minolta Maxxum 7000i that I purchased in 1988 when I worked in a camera shop in Monterey, CA. We moved to Oklahoma City in 2004. A friend there purchased a Sony Alpha 100 shortly after they 1st became available. A couple years later, she upgraded to the Alpha 700 and offered me the A100. I carried that until early last year when I purchased an A850 and donated the A100 to the home school coop group that my granddaughter attends.

That's interesting. I still have a Minolta Maxxim 7000i that I bought around 1989 in San Diego . I also have a Minolta Maxxum 5000i. I used that camera so much that the focusing motor finally quit.
A few people have wondered off on to "first camera" instead of "first digital camera". I read that and thought, what, I thought Minolta merged with Sony before making a digital camera, and certainly not in 1988. It is interesting too and we've done that question before. My first (film) Camera was a Kodak Instamatic 104. From the early 1960's sometime.
I got a Canon S800 IS in 1998, and it's still going strong.
"Canon - Built Like a Tank." :D
EDIT: Correction - in 1998 I bought the Canon Elf - film camera. In 2007 I got the SD800.

Me too! :) I had to put mine on lay-away first! :) Great camera.
In 1954 in Alaska, my first camera was an Exacta with a 50 mm and a 135 mm lenses. Others in my group had the same type camera with other lenses.

Sony Mavica. I added a macro lens and made lots of $$$ with it as an inspector. It had a built-in floppy disk drive. It was perfect for what I needed.

Still have my Olympus C-4000. Keep it in my truck.
That was my second digital camera. First one was the Oly D-600L
Bit bulky, but without the flash, I took take photos of the images on film-readers. Saved me 50cents every time I pressed the shutter while doing my research.

My first digital camera was a Fuji pocket model. Then I bought a Fuji that was shaped more like an SLR but did not have interchangeable lenses. Can't remember the model names. My first REAL digital camera was a Canon EOS 5D shortly after it first became available.
I think you got the same as I had, I have the Fujifilm S5000 in black color 3.1mp, it looks like a SLR, it was my first digi cam. They also made a earlier version as S3000 in silver.
I got the Mavica...I liked how you could just pull the disc and put it in the computer.
Then I picked up an Olympus Camedia with a nice long zoom with credit card points from some fancy catalogue...gave it away...picked up another Olympus bridge...Kept it until I wore the buttons down and got frustrated with the lousy manual feature.
Now I am the proud owner of an Olympus OMD E5...love it.
Canon, Nikon, and all the goodies that went with those good old SLRs have been donated, ....but I still have my first SLR, which was a vivitar, some lenses and a stack of cokin filters. Now if you wanna go way back, my first ever camera was Kodak 110 which I earned with a large collection of Bazooka Joe Bubble gum comics....
[quote=Soul Dr.]Mine was a Ricoh RDC-2, bought in 1996. Cost about $600, with the 1.8" LCD screen being an optional feature. It had a 1/4" CCD sensor with 410 thousand pixels, so the resolution was not even 1 mp.
There were not too many other digital cameras available at the time besides the Sony Mavicas, and I just did not like looks of them.
So you could say I was an early adopter of digital camera technology.
I had fun with this camera and got a lot of comments and questions when people saw me using it.
So what was your 1st digital camera?
Fuji Finepix 2600Z
Took great photos .........

Mine was a Canon G7 [NOT a G7x]. As an employee who lived in Yosemite National Park all year round, I took it with me everywhere. With care I made some surprisingly good images that I keep to this day.
Mine was an Olympus C-2100...has a x10 zoom lens, powerful stuff 12 years ago :)
