I have recently posted about my problems with a light diffraction. Thanks to UHH guidance I have solved it - dirty lens & filters.(not easy to spot)
I have read a few posts how to clean the optics, including liquid -on UHH.
BUT , is it possible, that after several uses of a microfiber cloth it gets oily from my fingers and smears a film on my filters? Is there any way how to wash this cleaning cloth to be sure it is perfectly clean?
PS: I also have used a "lens cleaning liquid" which somehow left that stain, I think. So microfiber took it off, but it took a lot of time.
Sure, I can buy a new kit, but it does not answer my question.
Any advice? thank you

microfiber cloths need to be cleaned before using.
wash before using.
cut up into 2 inch squares, place in ziplock bag..
use once and discard.
I don't think it's really that difficult to spot dirty lenses and filters. If you shine a bright light through them, you can tell right away if they are not very clean. Especially with the assistance of an eye loupe magnifier - you will immediately see even the tiniest foreign particles on the glass, plus any bubbles within the glass if they happen to be present.

I use micro clothes. I was them frequently. Don't use fabric softener.
I always used old washed a hundred times 100 percent cotton. Washed witha lil detergent and no fabric softener and machine dried and stored in zip lock bags. I have for the last 20 years or so been using a lens cleaingin solution called ROR. Removes oil residue, it is supposedly the strongest soln. that you can use that will not effect the lens coatings. The way to use this wonderful product is to wet your cloth with a drop and then wipe the lens. never put the soln directly on the lens (it will run down inside the housing and raise dirt up). when I sold this stff years ago, I would take a customers lens take a meter reading clean the lens and then take another meter reading and get as much as a stop more light transmitted. (the guy was a really heavy smoker) Check this stuff out

I use a blower bulb to blow off "loose dust", then use a lenspen to clean the lens surface. I've also used it on the LCD display, and it works fine on both curved (lens) surfaces and flat (LCD) surfaces.
You never touch the cleaning part of the lenspen, therefore no transfer of skin oils via the lenspen to the lens, as there could be with micro fibles cloth.
I can give you a good advise on lens cleaning and it is do not clean the lens unless it is absolutely necessary.
Modern lenses have very thin multicoated layers and believe me that it does not take much to damage those coatings when cleaning is done carelessly or often.
I do not recommend UV or any other filter for "protection" but in this case I would but make sure you remove the filter before you begin to take pictures.
It is very easy to spot a dirty lens or a dirty filter.
rook2c4 - I have looked at the lens and cleaned it b4 using. But at certain angle I suddenly noticed the film og oil, I think. No issue with a dust spot.
I have a pen, but did not use it . I have not seen any need.
BUT - can the pen get dirty after a while...I guess yes. Then the same issue is here.
UHH people ->
Thanks for the load of suggestions . Miro

After a number of years (at least five on one lens I have, more like 7 or 8 years on another one) never a problem.
I no longer have the instructions that came with the pen, but I seem to remember that twisting the cap on the lenspen provides a cleaning action for the pen itself.
I use the Zeiss lens cleaners as well. They work good, are easy to use and easy carry with you in your camera case. Sort of a no brainer product.
I have been very satisfied with ROR. I buy it from B&H.

I was just thinking that a good product would be a pack off wet wipes that are designed for cleaning eye glasses .
I have had some in the past but have not tried them on camera lenses .
I would have thought this followed by a micro fibre cloth should do the trick
windex ?? never had a issue with that .
As A hobby for 58 years when nothing else was available too clean a lens I used a small amount of saliva and a non ferrous
cloth,very carefully.
