Just tried out a different lab. This lab is cheaper than my Pro lab. Just want your opinions on grain, scan quality etc. Shot on Kodak Portra 400 negative film. Vivitar Series 1, 70-210 f/2.8-4 AF APO lens. No post processing. Hopefully you can view these at full size...

Thanks
Russ

You need to click on the "store original" box and put a tick mark in it. This way, we can see them in an enlarged view. From what I can see here already, all is well.

#1 enlarged 3x still looks great. The sky seems to have little or no objectionable grain.

Yeah, Russ, the grain is not really taking away from anything in either photo. They are actually pretty nice. There are a few things you can try to get things to smooth out, but I would not worry about it. Sometimes grain is added for effect.

Foathog

I used a newer auto focus model. The 7'th edition in the Vivitar Series 1 line. It's an f/2.8-4 AF Apochromatic lens. It's quite sharp. Even wide open. Made by Cosina.
