I am considering purchasing a DolicaGX600B200 or the Dolica GX650B204. The GX650 is $9 more than the GX600. Is it worth the price difference? The 650 weighs about a pound more and holds a few more pounds of weight, as well as extends to 65 inches. Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you serious? You are debating over a $9 difference? Tell me that you are really more concerned with the extra pound of weight the 650 has...

Are you suggesting the 650 with the Sunpak accessory? I do like the idea of the pistol grip.
Yes they work great together. Like I said I purchased the Opteka TS-1 TacShot Pistol Grip Ball Head with Quick Release Plate for Tripods & Monopods & it came with the insert for 1/4 20 in threads which was not needed. If you get the sunpack make sure of the thread size, but most come with the insert.

I have a Vanguard tripod with a Vanguard pistol grip - very nice. I just squeeze the grip, adjust, and let go.
If he can't afford the $9 ..he sure can't get the pistol grip!
I'd prefer the 650. For a few dollars more, it seems like a better product. Stronger is better. It's nice that it comes with a ballhead and a hook for hanging a weight. You can use that for a while before you decide on the pistol grip.
Amazon has buckled under: States want persons sales tax.
The nice thing about the pistol grip, set up the tripod with your pistol grip on it, open up live view set your level with the horizon and start shooting. Yes I know the tripod comes with a ball head. I took the one off the tripod and put it on my momopod walking stick and it works great.
And I have complainend to Amazon about the states wanting sales tax and there delay in shipping products. I also told them that many retailers here in Michigan are willing to honor their pricing and I am willing to purchase it locally reatail rather than wait unless they are willing to drop their prices. Their responce was that they would look into my concerns but to date nothing has been done, nor have I heard back.

The issue for me is not the $9. I was wondering if there is a disadvantage of a 65 inch tripod over a 60 inch, rather than an obvious difference in weight. Thanks for the advice!
I am glad I have 5 more inches.

Amazon has been charging me sales tax (NY) for years. With Prime membership, I get delivery in two days or less.
