HP printer ink

I have had a problem with HP and their ink. I am a user of their instant ink program which works pretty good except for the quality of the ink, which has me stumped. When I print anything with a dark to black content the ink takes 15 +- minutes to dry. Had a rep on their link up and he gave me many different possible problems:
1. High humidity (never a problem before)
2. Paper left out absorbing moisture (paper kept in sealed plastic containers)
3. Is the photo paper in the tray correct
4. I am using photo paper that was not approved for the printer (HP 4630) I only use HP photo paper because I like it
5. Not all HP photo paper is approved for use in that printer
(where is the warning at?)

Not once was it an instant ink problem. I never had the problem with locally procured ink from either an electronics store or big box store.

I am just sharing a problem I have had with HP. I have used HP products for over 10 years with no problem and will trash this printer when this months instant ink is over. Looking at Epson and Canon for replacement. I use an inexpensive Canon printer as my document printer currently (real cheap one $30 on sale).

I use an HP 6830 for printing color labels and b&w office documents. I am also subscribed to the HP Ink replacement program. I have occasionally printed a 4x6-inch color print on photo paper, but have never noticed any time lag in ink drying. My routine photography printing is accomplished on my Canon Pro-100.

We will follow your printer progress &/or selection.

I made my decision. I copied this from the Main Photography section:
"Well my HP got unplugged today and replaced by a Canon PIXMA MX922. I want to thank everyone for your comments here and all the PMs sent. I was settled on two different Canon printers. The MX922 and the PRO 100. Had a lead on a PRO 100 but that ended up being sold. It was one from a bundle. More printer than I needed, but if I got it I figured I would not tell my wife this is my last one and it wasn't. I did tell her the MX922 is my last and I hope it is true.
I already found out how easy the installation was and how smart it is. Did one test print and I am happy. Been a busy day, "so that's all folks".
But again, a BIG thanks to all the HOGs, you are the greatest."

As I stated there, a BIG thanks to all the HOGs who helped in this decision.
