I have not heard of the blue hour until recently. 10 members from our camera club went downtown last night to shoot the blue hour. It rained, so we ended up under the Ringling Causeway bridge in Sarasota, FL. I got this shot and am now looking for my next blue hour opportunity. Canon 7D, EF-S 10-22mm lens @ 22mm. 30sec, f22, ISO 125. Spot Metering. Gary

Tradio, Thank you, I got lucky the first time out. I updated my OP, but this is how I shot the image. Gary Canon 7D, EF-S 10-22mm lens @ 22mm. 30sec, f22, ISO 125. Spot Metering.

A very attractive image. The star effect of the lights that you get from a very small aperture adds interest, and the contrast between the solid stone piers and the softness of the water is good. It might be interesting to try another take with a slightly less wide-angle lens and let the bridge fill the frame. But the way you have it is great too.

Shooter, Thanks, I will begin experimenting now that I am a little more familiar with the technique. Gary
