Wife surprised me with a 74th birthday present to New York. Theater, Dining, Shopping, Shopping and Dining!
Staying in Manhattan, if I can find some time, what camera/photography stores would you suggest visiting, if any. And which to avoid.
Maybe I can find another birthday present on the trip.
thanks

B&H - 420 Ninth Ave, New York, NY 10001
Adorama - 42 W 18th St, New York, NY 10011

STAY AWAY FROM 42nd st. PHOTO

If you get out to Long Island, I have several more places.

B&H is a huge store. Adorama is smaller but also good. Most like to go to B&H when in NY.

B&H and Adorama are both excellent. One bit of advice:
Punch a small hole in your credit card and put a leash on it! A short one!
Happy Birthday and have fun!

Although both B&H and Adorama are good, I've found B&H to be the better several times. You MUST visit it. Ninth avenue between 33rd and 34th streets. And don't forget to check out their used department. They have some great equipment at a good discount from new and I've found they have some flexibility in price in the used department if you just negotiate a bit. ENJOY!!!!

When you are in the theatre district some of the best restaurants are on West 46 st. My favorite is Le Rivage, a classic french bistro. Prices aren't bad either(but all NY City restaurants are pricy)

Get some great shots downtown at the Freedom Tower and try to get high up on a rooftop at night too. There is a nice rooftop lounge at 230 5th Avenue (at 27th Street) with good views around. Nice place to share a drink with your wife.

Happy Birthday and we'd love to have you visit our store. As Vinnya mentioned, we do a hard close on today, Friday at 2:00 p.m. and are closed all day Saturday and reopen at 10:a.m. on Sunday.

Enjoy your visit and have a safe trip.

HERSHEL

Go to Brooklyn Heights. The Promenade at the end of Montaque St. has some of the best views of NYC and bridges. Night time is spectacular. For sure B&H.
